  • Very dark red color with a 4-5mm transition. PNP - outstanding cork, split bottle over 3+ hours. This was in great shape and truly impressive. The nose shows a nice blend of dark fruits; cassis, plum and dark berries; there's a real woodsy character here with lovely tobacco notes, hints of smoke, menthol and roasted game waft in too. The palate medium bodied to medium full bodied, cassis, plum, deep raspberry and mulberry; tobacco, coffee beans, dried almost smoldering wood, roasted gme, and a little citrus build into a long finish with polished tannins. This continues to build over a couple hours and the fruit seemd to become even more lucid and pure. What a nice wine. This has to be about as good as it is going to get, but I can see well stored bottles aging for another 5 years or so. 93+ to 94pts.
