A decent wine but disappointing relative to the ratings and price. Unpleasant upon first pop and pour. After 1.5 hours in the glass, it was open and smooth. Flavors then were a mixture of honeydew melon (the primary fruit) with a side of tart grapefruit. Lots of minerality. "Bones" is a fair descriptor, as this was more "dry as bone" than luscious in the way Chardonnay often appears. I'm happy to have tried this but the flavor profile doesn't hit one of my sweet spots.

See my Tasting Note of 5/15/2022. With this bottle, I just couldn't get past the tartness of the wine, it was overpowering. It reminded me of eating those giant SweeTarts as a kid. The wine had nice depth.

Opened and allowed to decant in glass for one hour. Fallow straw color with clear edge. Nose of honeysuckle, eucalyptus and rosemary. On the palate, it is similar to the nose with honeysuckle (not sweet), rosemary and meyer lemon. Acid is prominent, but somehow does not feel out of balance. Medium length finish of meyer lemon and green herbs. This wine is definitely an oddball and one is likely to love it or hate it...best not to think of it as Chardonnay and just focus on the flavors described. Drank over two nights and seemed consistent across. Also worth calling out that its a nimble pair--had it with salmon on night one and a couple different kinds of pizza on night two (one of which was a meatlovers that was absolute fireworks with this wine).

Strong menthol nose. Good acidity. Different, but tasty.
