Nicely fruited nose, with raspberry and blackberry and hints of olive tapenade. More fruit on the palate but a bit of a bitter finish holding it back. Still, a very nice wine. A little tannin too, will develop positively, I think.

Ripe blueberry, dark plum, red currant, black olive. Vanilla and peppermint. Medium to high volume of velvety tannin with totally symmetrical round shape. Strong oak and acidity are very well integrated into the body. All are presented in such a seamless way - despite intensity, tastes gentle and delicate.
The balance of oak/ripeness/extraction reminds me of Cote de Nuit from Dominique Laurent (recently not heard of his name - maybe now a bit out of fashion style in Burgundy, but as syrah, this wine tastes totally typical/appropriate).

Rather on the lighter elegant side of things...dry...somewhat simple.. Not completely sure I would have pegged it as a Syrah blinded... Not a good QPR IMO..... ONe more bottle to try and see if I feel the same... ( on more than one occasion I have had fairly different opinions on the same wine, ....the bottle?...the food?...me that night?...)

Good but more ripe than typical for SJ. Not really my thing. 13.5%
