Best bottle so far. For a halbtroken, it was pretty nice. Fruit and tropical flavors were quite nice and not hidden in the acidity. I had this wine at about 40 F all the way up to about 70 F and there is no doubt that it becomes more elegant and integrated at warmer temperatures. Fruit flavors are more pronounced as well and the finish shows some malolactic fermentation that is hidden by the acidity. Got a few more bottles in the cellar so we will continue the evaluations.

A crisp fruit that is hidden by a lack of sweetness....at Halbtroken it is ok but I was glad it wasn't a Troken wine. The wine was balanced pretty well and the finish showed the tart fruit for a brief period. With its 10 years, was somewhat mellow and had a slight nuttiness that balance with the fruit. I judge it has another 5 years of life and the nuttiness will allow some of the fruit to come back out.

The best bottle I have had of this wine. Nice body and I could actually taste some of the Riesling character but still it was over acidic and out of balance. A mediocre Halbtroken Qualitatswein. I'm glad I bought this at a tad over $14 ($10 at auction plus about $4 shipping) instead at the community value.....I only overpaid about $6-7.

Amazing. 5 years later incredibly consistent. From 55 degrees F cellar this is just happy. 1 more bottle. Bravo to Shafer-Frohlich and Rudi Weist!
