Surprisingly astringent, from the acidity, rather than the tannins, which are quite soft. The red cherry fruit is pure and attractively soft and drinkable. Short astringent finish, straightforward. Drinking now, will be marginally better in a couple of years but that spiky acidity will not change.

Blind.Faith ‘Badass Barbera’ tasting. Wine 6 Tasted blind. Lovely aromas of black fruits with an exciting balsamic note underneath. Has a lovely texture and mouthfeel. Rounder on the palate than most of the others in the tasting - there’s cherry fruit and herbs which linger long into the finish.

Really lovely, an elegant expression of Barbera, only 13.5% with a big nose but more linear profile and less fruit forward than many Barberas. Typical Roagna precision.
