Opened the bottle and let it breathe for 1 hour. Very expressive notes of menthol, white peaches, eucalyptus. Medium acidity with great minerality - dense with oaky butter and apricots, nectarines, and Mayer lemons on the palate. A bit of spice on the medium+ ending that shows elegant oak notes. Still young but already very appealing, this should shine in a few years once acidity calms down a bit and fruits will come out more. 92 today, 94 potential.

Going against popular CT opinion here, but really enjoyed this. Big wine here, still tight knit, after revealing itself - it shined. White stone fruit, pear, lemon, petrol, and refreshing minerality.

Umami Table: Completely dry, dense and ripe, so I guessed 2015 or 2019 Alsace instead of German. Strong petroleum notes on the nose, grapefruit on the palate. As I often find with GGs, too large-scaled and oily for my preference and I couldn’t do more than a glass of this.

Rich, ripe nose, cooked lemon, some leesy tones, even a touch candied on the lemon. Palate is powerful, waxy, phenolic. Cooked lemon perists, with apple skin, even orange tones, giving way to a toasty finish. Good, young.

Powerful. Lots of lime zest and passionfruit on the top. Rich textures. A bit of caramel on the finish. Gorgeous, but seemed to be holding something in reserve. (OTOH, was a bit flat and apple-y on day 2, so not sure.)
