This is a great example of why you can’t trust Galloni’s CA reviews unless you have the Parker palate he assumes for them. As he promises, this is heady, rich and minerally. But it is also the textbook overripe Syrah; tons of stewed fruit and tar/creosote. I cannot stand black, bitter, stewy Syrah; if that’s your thing, this may be the wine for you.

Ripe, extracted, but not as heavy or jammy for a Syrah. A medium grip on the finish. A mid-point between the extremes of regional styles. Very nice.

Great value. Needs decanting. Well integrated tannins. Dark fruit, spice, smoke, mocha. Long finish. Very nice.
