  • This is a very subjective review of mine. Why? Because this wine is full of licorice flavor and licorice is my least favorite one. I don't mind it with a nice proportion between others, but here it's simply too much. If you like licorice then go for this wine.
Smell? Aromas of red cherry, minerals ( big and nice), earth and yes - licorice ( but I like it at this "location")
Taste? Besides licorice, also flowers (?), minerals, red cherry, soft spice. Light texture. Very unique and unusual 100% Syrah.
    No black or blue fruits!

  • Big wine. Nose with chocolate, coffee and cherry. Juicy palate with enough freshness.

  • Clear deep cherry red color, aromas of blackcurrants, raspberries, peonies. On the palate it’s balanced and deliciously intense with blackcurrant, pepper, licorice, quite long. Brilliant complexity for st. joseph. Quite agree with previous observation that it has delicious similarities to a Côte-Rotie. Still in need of cellaring.

  • Deep ruby red colour with red brim. Beautifully perfumed, fruity and peppery, with notes of bramble, raspberries, white pepper, juniper wood and a touch of vanilla. Mouthfeel is round and generous, fruity and peppery, medium bodied and elegant, with very fine, powdery tannins, nice acidity and notes of bramble, raspberries, white pepper, bacon and a touch of juniper wood and vanilla.

This is a just gorgeous Saint-Joseph that would compare very well to many highly ranked Côte-Rôties. Still young but with a great future. Excellent stuff!

  • It certainly needs air! Quite dense, but with good freshness. Very long taste that keeps lingering. Needs time, but worth waiting for!
