Some Birthday wines (St. Anselm DC): I like the smoky, beefy, spicy, tobacco on the nose, on top of still fresh raspberries. Spicy and fresh on the palate, it has a bright, herbal aesthetic, and juicy raspberry and strawberry fruit. Tannins still structured but the edges are all rounded out, and there's a nice mix of herbal, savory, dried flower and earthy complexity. Seems to be drinking quite well now but definitely could hold.

Cameron Wine Dinner with John Paul (Estadio - DC): Lovely showing here. Lots of red currant and cherry fruit on the nose with smoky, iron, mushroom, mineral tones. Tangy, bright, prickly red fruits, but also still structured so well. Perfumed, earthy, smoky, crisp yet still built for the cellar. Showing very well, I'd love to revisit again in three or four years.

Quite clean and elegant. On thé softer side of Morey. Can’t say this screams 1er to me, more like a nice villages.
