Color is dense, medium purple color, aroma carries more green herbal notes with a savory spice quality with red berry notes after some air, crisp and acidic at first on the palate with strawberry and raspberry fruit and hints of green bell pepper, finishes with astringent tannins. More tart for my taste, still enjoyable for the value.

Nose is quite subtle. There are ripe blackcurrant, toasted cinnamon and clove. On the palate, good freshness, sage and blue fruits with a touch of spices from entry to the lingering finish. This needs sometime in the glass for the aromatics to settle down and harmonised. A daily drinking Cabernet to go with a wide range of food options. Drink this with 10 years.

Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Jammy blackcurrant, slight herbaceous underpin, sweet spice and cream in support, touch of alcohol prickle. Juicy tending to medium plus intensity acidity, touch of bitterness, blackcurrant is equally ripe on the palate. Not my thing.
