  • Opened and decanted an hour ahead of sausages and root vegetables. Inky black-violet with a bright violet hue. The nose didn't open up until three hours in and brought petrol, spring violets, musty earth, and purple lavender. The palate is medium, square, compact, and juicy, bringing a nice black fruit core with hints of red raspberries, beef chili, wild herbs, and crushed granite. The finish is tannic and needs more time to resolve, so drink 2024-2030. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.

  • I didn't take as detailed notes as usual.

Nose and palate show blackberry with tons of olives and dried, but not bitter, herbs (thyme, I think); dry; medium body; low+ small/fine tannin; medium- acidity

Overall thoughts: This isn't super complex, but it's not simple either as dark fruit meets very savory olive and herb notes. It's quite expressive and approachable right out of the bottle. The wine is very nicely balanced, even if it doesn't have a lot of structure. It's actually fairly chuggable despite being a decently serious wine. I think it's open for business now and nothing about this wine screams "age me." Great wine.

Still great on day 2, but beware, there is already a decent amount of sediment in the bottle... I wasn't expecting that

  • Like Ledocq this wine appears to be made of olives and reared in olive casks w olive extract furthering the supranuance of olives.

  • Olives on the nose, and the opening tastes like biting into an olive sandwich on the floor of an olive factory surrounded by olive trees in Olive Town, Olivania. Finishes with olives. Drunk from a Gabriel Glas on an olive day.
