  • From limestone soil - the most typical soil type for Nero d'Avola in Sicily. Gamier on the nose than the Sanlore, some lift, blue as well as black fruit. Green peppercorn sauce on the palate as well as the inevitable juicy fruit. Spicy finish, excellent acidity, very energetic.

  • It seems that this is my favorite Sicilian vineyard and probably not only Sicilian. I drank their 4 different wines and this is my 2nd time drinking this one. I first drank this wine 10 months ago. 2011 vintage. Let's see if this young brother is as good.
    🕐⏰🤠
    90 minutes in decanter.
Smell? Incredible! Herbs, but the ones that I experience for the first time in my life. It's hard to even describe them, but they're strong and narcotic. The smell of smoke complements them perfectly. What else?
Minerals, flowers, sweet notes of red cherry. The taste of the wine is very juicy, lively, full of energy.
A lot of red fruits are here. Not only red cherry, but also... strawberry, raspberry, red plum. All ripe and sweet.
    Delicious.
Easy going, drinkable, addictive no pretence juice!
Sweet and sour flavors in full balance.

Second day of drinking and smell is somehow subdued, but taste... everything the same, but multiple by 2.
Especially red cherry ( very juicy!) and raspberry. What a delicious mixture!
