  • Hard to peg as it shows a combination of a rustic streak in a modern package. A good wine, for sure, but the sweet fruit and overall profile leaning into winemaking process makes it anonymous and a bit boring. Still, an easy wine to drink, and certainly no flaws I could find. I'd go with grilled meats, burgers, that sort of thing to pair.

It's surprisingly youthful for a 2012, so if you've got these there seems to be little hurry.

  • Remarkably fresh at 10 years old. Deep ruby in the glass, pronounced aromas and flavors, bit rustic on the nose, notes of dark fruits, earth, wood and herbs, palate is dry, black plum, currant, black cherry, bit of bramble, green pepper, spice, nutmeg, vanilla, acidity is high, tannins mature, full body, long finish. Very nice.
