Aromas of quince, apple, underripe pineapple, spring flowers, salty sea air, scallops and mushrooms, a little nougat and nut oils too... Full, silky and mineral on the palate, there's intense saline character, and subtle umami and vegetal nuance, as well as beautiful ripe fruit, mostly apple and quince. There's a lot happening on the palate, the dynamic interplay of texture, saltiness, umami and fruit makes this something very special. The finish is mouthwatering, long and complex, very mineral and salty, but also quite fruity, as well as delicately herbal, pithy and floral; the sustain and grip is super impressive. This competes with much more expensive regions, and I would expect it to perform at this high level for at least another 10 years.

This seems too young and isn't really showing much. Even so, this is a bigger vintage of this wine than the '17 and the exceptional '14. This drinks almost more like white Burg without the razor acidity of those vintages. Good but I'll hold off a year or two on my remaining bottles.

From a bottle opened last night. This is only my 2nd vintage of this wine - I liked the 2017 and this is very nice as well. This is a bigger wine than his Briords, and it doesn't have the cut that wine is known for, but while different, this wine is also very good. Sea breeze scents on the nose, decent acidity on the palate, and a wine that I'm going to start looking for on an annual basis.

Fresh and bold and beautiful. First drag of the day and that is beautiful. 42 months on the lees. Super tasty.
