Just like Mrs. Buttersworth, rich, thick and...tasty; not unlike a fat boy Aussie. Some mulberry, blueberry along with a dollop of black-raspberry jam.

Really nice fruit forward nose that was quite complex, a little earthy and meaty. On the palate though it felt quite thin, a little hollow with a very quick finish. The fruit was there and it was tasty but the body seemed a little hollow and again the finish was gone in a flash. For the price though there are better though it as it was still quite enjoyable.

Big blackberry flavors with spice on the finish. Overall the wine is a bit overwhelmed with a nose and taste of wet leaves. This would probably blow off if you had the time. Not unenjoyable, just a little off.

Notes of boysenberry and blackberry on the nose, with very ripe and full-bodied flavor. High alcohol and some oak and spice gives enough complexity that the ripeness doesn't overwhelm. Bought for $20.00 and at that price I would buy again. Good with steak, certainly. We visited Hogue Winery back when Rob Griffin was wimemaker there in about '90, and enjoyed the tour and the wines. He's still in the tri-cities, now making his own wines. Still does a very nice tour and makes fine wines.
