  • Made of Jacquère (40%), Roussanne (30%), Malvoisie (20%) and Mondeuse Blanche (10%) grown on 60% slopes, Schiste is fermented with whole clusters and aged for 12 months in used barrels. Muted at first, this needs lots of air. Fresh, mineral, high acid and bone dry, this remained shut for the better part of the 2 days it was open. Might be in shutdown and may need time.

  • Bottle 1397g, wax capsule. Bought in Lyon. Modest to moderately intense aromas, a little citrus but not fruity, straw? old wood? Dry, with moderate acidity (could use more), savory and saline. Not as intense as I'd hoped (the caviste was enthusiastic): let it warm up.
After 20 minutes, aromas are more expressive, with nutty and caramel components. Light oxidative notes on the palate and some stone fruit. Saline finish. Interesting. Jacquère/Roussette/Pinot Gris/Mondeuse Blanche

  • Pale golden color, notes of yeast and dried orange peel on the nose, the palate is lifted, airy, intense, vibrant and clean, well equipped with flavors of liquid mineral and stone with some lemon and kiwi fruit, a gorgeous wine with so much personality and authentic character, gets better with air, will cellar well, one of the finest white wines in all the land

  • PNP into Atiap Titanium 200ml wine vessel (“Fruit” to “No” day): Medium golden to the eyes.

Lots of highly detailed yellow fruits like starfruits, elegant tropical fruits like pineapples. Savoury, florals, and some hints of marina.

Heaps of minerality and nicely tingly acids. Bright and fresh fruits with lots of details and complexity. Incredible with seafood cooked and raw in my view.

    94-95 points.
