  • this was given to me as a sample so I approached this with truly little knowledge of price. with that said- this wine overall exceeded expectations... kind of.

carneros pinot noir- 14.2% overall I was not expecting much, but pleasantly surprised in the fact the acidity was high enough to give it a refreshing lift.

candied rose petal, ripe red cherries, distinct notes of tilled soil and all expected French oak notes to follow.

surprisingly enough this was highly aromatic, I'm talking screaming from the glass even while I was 18" to 24" inches away.

where this was lacking was on the mid palate, there were some notes I thought may have been due to some stem inclusion but overall the green bitterness was off putting to me.

this wine ticks the boxes of complexity, deliciousness, but for what I would imagine the public would pay for it... get something else.

  • Vibrant ruby color. So fresh on the nose, with strawberries, cranberry, wild raspberry, along with cola, tobacco, tilled soil, also violets and hints of mushroom – a lot going on here. Crisp acidity and a velvety mouthfeel, smooth tannins, meet raspberries and juicy strawberries, the fruit has a ripe but vibrant feel. Notes of light roast coffee, rose and violet petals, along with complexities of cola, clay earth, mushroom accents. Delightful, quite complex, accessible now but will improve for a few years. Solid value. Aged 10 months in 18% new French oak.
