  • light oak on the nose, some citrus too

Creamy palate feel with medium body, citrus zest, tropical fruit lingering in the background, light buttery oak, light to medium acid, little to no minerality. Fruit forward with a finish that lasts 20 seconds. Showing reasonably well for a 5 year old Chard. Drink now or hold but not longer than another year.

Tasted over 2 hours starting at refrigerator temperature and it improved with both time and warmer temperatures.

  • Food pairing: penne/shrimp, cream sauce. Wine is golden yellow in color with scent of nice oak and butter typical of Chardonnays, but with more citrus than one would expect. Very toasty and buttery on the tongue, but the fruit is somewhat muted. A little too light bodied for a chardonnay, but I think it reflects some good winemaking.
