  • The ‘19 Aux Murgers is a stunning young wine that was very beautiful already today, but has plenty of stuffing to age well. The nose was explosively perfumed with rich, dark red sweet berry fruit, smoke, exotic spices, and a hint of licorice and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is very dense and full-bodied by Burgundy standards, but drank with ease with perfectly smooth tannins and medium plus acidity balancing the richness. I found super sweet dark red berry fruits, smoke, and exotic spices, leading into a finish with almost hard candy like dark fruits, spice, and a touch of dark chocolate.

This is a rich wine with a beautiful sweetness to the fruit, yet also comes across as so balanced and finessed. Great stuff.

  • Medium crimson color, clear, no sediment. Nose leather, long legs 14.5% alcohol, medium + tannin, medium + acidity, on the palate - dark stewed cherry, new calf leather, damp leaves a day after the rains.
