  • Three hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Almond poppyseed muffin, blackberry, black cherry, thistle, tea, walnut, violet, and subtle candle wax. Dry, satiny palate, with slightly dusty acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.

This has a very Bordeaux sensibility. Great balance and complexity already, but there’s a bit of room for improvement with more cellar time. This remains one of the best Napa CS below $100. ‘21 will be the last vintage.

  • 75 min decant. Restrained earth, faint dark fruit and muted wood on the nose. Fine grained tannins, mature dark fruit and crushed stone most prominent, but this needs more time to open up; wine is hiding something and there's gotta be more around the corner.

At the 3hr mark while the nose is unchanged the wine has opened up nicely; fine tannins are still evident but almost fully integrated. It's developed the Bordeaux--like profile noted when I last opened a bottle of this, exactly a year ago tonight.

At 3.5 hrs the fruit is opening up to better reflect the balance I love in D-P, with vibrant, pure blue and dark fruit in wrapped in European packaging.

Mrs Davidandrose noted her appreciation and respect for Lisa (whom we first met through husband Les) and Francoise, who established a label when Parker was in his heyday yet crafted a wine to suit their liking rather than create a score-chasing fruit-bomb.

Always great stuff, we forward to their forthcoming release. Bumping to 94 and can see room to grow with more age or air

  • My first Drinkward with zero expectations. PnP through 45 minutes in a large bordeaux glass.

Loads of beautiful acidity, good tannins, no surprise with FP, dark balck and red fruits, earth, dark chocolate, dark coffee. Very nice wine at the price point. Hold for 1-2 more years.

  • Five hour slow ox. Nearly opaque electric magenta color. Boysenberry, blackberry, slate, brown sugar, cola, pie crust, walnut, and subtle carrot cake. Very smooth, dry palate, with persistent, satiny acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish.

This is elegant (it has a Bordeaux soul), but still has Napa muscle. It’s youthful, but already has some nice complexity. There’s no better CS for the money. It ages very well and this bottle will not truly peak for 3-4 years (and the decline will be very slow after that).

  • Coravan'd a glass last night and pulled the cork this evening. After 90 minutes in the decanter there's rich dark fruit and violets on the nose. Approach is dry but not dusty, with more dark fruit, coffee-spice rub rounding this out. Lots of layering and complexity, this should continue to improve for years to come.
