Community Tasting Notes (10) Avg Score: 89.4 points

  • Prior bottle was nearly a year ago and the wine has taken a clear, positive step forward in that time. Bright red cherry and darker cherry (almost black) on the nose, along with spices and earth notes (forest floor). Very close to medium bodied with a very similar fruit profile of brighter red cherry, darker red cherry and even some hints of black cherry through the middle. Tart red cherry on the backside along with spices earth and minerals through the finish. Tannins are very fine grained and acidity is well blended with the fruit. While the complexity here was equivalent to my prior bottle, the overall balance has continued to improve, deserving of a slight score bump. Really pleased with how this wine has evolved and expect it should continue to improve along these lines over the next years with at least another years or two at a high level.

  • Light oak on the nose with a subtle cherry flavor up front and a hint of raspberry on the mid palate. Presents with a pleasant tartness that mellows out on the finish. The wine’s color is a bright translucent burgundy that is typical of Pinot Noir from the Finger Lakes region. Paired perfectly with a roasted turkey.

  • this is quite good and very 'old-world' in style. light color, nose of cranberry, raspberry, cinnamon, a dollop of stem and a hint of brett. Light bodied, silky-textured, good acid without being sour. Nice red fruit. Not concentrated at all, and perhaps the fruit is a touch candied, but this is lot more like high-quality 1996 generic Bourgogne tasted young then any generic Bourgogne's being produced these days.

  • Previously tasted nearly 7 months ago at the winery, this was my first from bottle. Mixture of brighter and darker red cherry on the nose along with earth and light spices. Seemed prettier than when I had tried it at the winery. Between light and medium bodied and the flavor profile was generally similar: bright red cherry upfront, gaining depth through the middle and adding some darker red cherry, then tart red fruits, integrated spices and some nice mineral qualities. What felt like it had changed a bit was the overall balance that the wine showed. Felt like it had slightly more depth and the various fruit components fit a bit better with the structural elements (tannins and acidity) and that the resulting whole felt more complete. I'll plan to open my next bottle probably in late Summer 2022 and expect that this trend will continue.
