I drink a lot of wine but I rarely drink Gamay noir so.... in a nut shell, I really like this. If guessing blind (I'd guess wrong), I would have said this was a ripe red burgundy. However, I find a distinct savory/meaty element to this wine, ala Rhone valley. Either way, this is some much better than the occasional barely palatable Beaujolais nouveau I've run across.

Deep ruby color. Pronounced aromas of stewed plum, wild strawberry, violet, pencil lead, blueberry, cedar, nutmeg, rose hip, tomato leaf. Med body, dry, med tannins, med plus acidity, med plus finish. A bit shy upon opening so decanting could have helped. Pretty youthful though tannins and oak are integrated. Red and dark fruits as well as floral and oaky notes, yet not too complex or not as intense as highest quality wines, though this is decent. Drinkable but probably improve for next few years at least. 89+

This took until the next day that I started to enjoy this wine.
I tasted this when just opened and it was really big and intense: I find that quality Beaujolais in warm years like 2020 are more akin to Rhône wines than Burgundies. Notes of cassis, blackberries, wet earth and some liquorice emerge from the glass with a quite full-bodied palate with medium tannins bursting with ripe blackberry notes. Obviously well-structured but hardly elegant.
The next day the wine shed some of its fat, and gained some freshness and elegance. Even some red fruits start to come forward. On the nose violets appear.
Good wine, but I personally prefer colder vintage Beaujolais, or ones made in a more subtle style. I am sure this could be very beautiful and elegant in 5 to 10 years, this is still very young. I wonder how the 2021's of Desvignes would fare.

Relatively dark color. Also dark berry aromas with flowers and hay. Good concentration.

Very nice fruit and delicate style. But this bottle had a very prominent toffee nose, quite surprising.
