Young with plenty of power to age for years but drinking beautifully now. Balanced and delicious with a long finish with fine tannins. This will likely score higher with some aging.

Excellent wine, for sure, but didn't really grab me at this point. I gave it some air, but think it would have benefited for several hours in a decanter at this point. No notes... rich but a bit coiled, garrigue, some earth, plum, and licorice?
Label abv is a whopping 16% and if I'd have known that I'd not have bought several bottles. That said, I didn't get any heat or alcohol on the nose, so perhaps the actual abv is closer to 15.0% than 16.0%. Let's see how this evolves over time.
Not sure of the QPR at $46 USD. Sure, that's inexpensive for the CdP expectation these days, but there are lots of wonderful Rhone varietal wines outside of CdP and outside of the Rhone generally in today's wine market.

No complex notes taken. Really enjoyed the dark cherry and vanilla character in this wine. The high alcohol tamped down the depth and complexity.
By day 3 there was even more to like having blown through some of the heat.
Hold.

Classic Chateauneuf—absolute joy to drink. Wonderfully modest funk on the nose, delicious on the palate. I would gladly drink this again.

Drinks good tasted toasted nori, which is a great sign. Needs more time, only a 2019.
