Extreme, paint-peeling aromas of tropical fruit, lychee, spice, and clove. Overwhelming flavors of passion fruit and spice on the palate. Geez. Great example of how new world vintners can overdo a delicate style.

I did not care for this wine at all and neither did my wife. We wanted to try something different as neither of us had tried a Gewurztraminer previously and we were looking for a good pairing with Thai food. Unfortunately, we wound up pouring it down the drain. It is probably not fair to rate it as I doubt we would like any sweet wine such as Gewurztraminer. I'll chalk this one up to an experiment that failed...

Tons of apple. Mineral in the aroma, and a bit in the taste. Enough tartness to make it refreshing, but not overpowering. Tends to go bad fast with exposure to air and warmth, and shouldn't be kept around for a while opened. Each sip loses fruit and gains sourness. Before it warms up, however, it's absolutely delightful on balance. May buy again, especially at the price, if I need to pour a round for a bunch of people and not have leftovers.

Less smooth than most gewurt's I'm used to...still tasty - very much similar to a Riesling - moreso than most I've had.
