Drank this at Crystal Jade Palace with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines that start with the letter Z.
Beautifully perfumed nose and sense of calm and charm on the palate. Did not decant this wine and it took a while to spring into action. Rich plums, black spices, dark coffee, with lots of berries in the finish.
One of the most underrated and undervalued wines.

Brought this to a Festive Season gathering at a friend's place.
Decanted for 2 hours before serving. The energy and heat has calmed down quite a bit and this wine is very enjoyable at its current state. Has some green notes amidst the ripe plums and fresh berries, coupled with grounded coffee, fresh leather, and crushed tobacco.
Wonderful wine with excellent QPR.

Brought this to Burlamacco Ristorante (East Coast) for dinner with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines from Chris Ringland. Bottle was decanted for 12 hours prior to consumption.
Tonight, the wine shone beautifully with all the beauty and charm bestowed upon it by the higher beings. Notes of dried beef jerky with a soft inner core completed with notes of aromatic coffee and tiramisu.

Brought a bottle for dinner with my wine mates at Chao Shan Cuisine to celebrate someone winning the lottery. Followed the advice and decanted the wine for 6 hours (Batch 1) and 12 hours (Batch 12).
Dark purple in colour. Batch 1 had notes of smokiness, ripe berries, with a concentrated inner core with focus and dexterity, while Batch 2 is more open and expressive with notes of vanilla, cream and opulence.
First experience decanting a wine for more than 3 hours and was (pleasantly) surprised to learn what a 12 hours decant can do to the character and integrity of the wine.

Wonderful Spanish Syrah and a great VFM👏
Nice intermediate dark bright mostly cloudy ruby red color👏
Medium body, medium acidity, well felt tanines but very smooth, lovely structure👏
Lovely aromatic, barrels, spices, terroir, red and black fruits👏
Rich, intensive and very enjoyable on the palate: oak, coffee, coconut, chocolate, plum, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, pomegranate, raspberries, cherry, cinnamon, pepper, anise, leather, earthy, stone, anise, licorice 👏
Glad I have one more 👏🍷👏🍷👏
