High notes on the nose: spices, light tea, bright red but earth driven fruits. The palate is precise, bright red fruits with green notes and well textured. Excellent.

Tasted at Caviste, Hampshire, UK. Tasting of Herzog wines presented by Mark Bedford, owner of Caviste and Maria, Herzog's Sales and Marketing representative. Medium garnet colour. Beautiful nose of rich, red berry fruits. Good tannins, jammy, full. Beautifully mature with nice earthiness. Very good.

Phenomenal intensity on the nose, with all the obvious red fruits, but with smoke, black pepper, and (oddly) blood orange. This is so concentrated, with rich raspberry and boysenberry notes, but opening up with rose, vanilla, toast, and herbes de Provence. The finish goes on forever. I kept going back to this and it just got better and better in the grass. A very fine pinot that will age gracefully. I have ordered a case - I can't wait to see how this drinks in the years ahead.

3 Winos and a Providore (The four seasons hotel, the rocks, sydney): Earthy, slightly sour, red over black fruit, smidge of wood glue, wild ferment. Tight fruit tea tannins, sour, slightly gritty, it's a bit too hard.
