  • Way too young but wonderful now. Inky black/purple in color. Strong tears. Blackberry, blueberry on the nose, confirmed on the palate. Strong tannins this will run for a long time. Not sure when it’ll shut down but it is approachable now. Wonderful value Boudreaux.

  • Decanted half a bottle for Day 1. Drunk the remaining half bottle (resealed with Repour) on Day 3 without decanting. Both tasted the same but with a touch of alcohol showing on Day 3. Full body, beautiful color, beautiful nose, very concentrated, smooth tannin, very refined, drinking beautifully. It was a very decadent wine with lots of chocolate and mooca mixed in with fruits. This was my thought of a Pomerol should be.

  • If I've ever had a Clos l'Eglise before, I don't remember it. I might have been missing out, as this is a stellar Pomerol. It's slick and dark-fruited like a black leather jacket but the velvety texture and slender figure display pure merlot elegance. Those deep, black fruits make up the front-end veneer but toss it around a little bit and it pops with an array of classic Pomerol plateau character spanning black truffles, botanicals, and just a little bit of cedar. But mainly this is just a super-classy, well-tailored wine that serves as a reminder that while St.-Emilion gets more buzz, Pomerol is the one that delivers a sophistication seldom matched.

  • With all the flowers, chocolate, black cherries, truffles and licorice you could hope for, the perfume lets you know you are in for a treat. The inky dark color leads the way to a full-bodied, rich and concentrated wine that is opulent, lush, silky and fresh, finishing with layer after layer of perfectly ripe, sweet, sensuously-textured, plums and black cherries. Drink from 2025-2055.

  • Almost opaque in color, the wine jumps from the glass with its showy display of black cherries, Valrhona chocolate, ripe plums, smoke, licorice and wet earth. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, the wine is lush, velvety and opulent in texture, leaving you with an array of chocolate-covered red pit fruits and silky, sensuous textures. This could be my favorite vintage of Clos L'Eglise produced yet. 95-97
