Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 91.2 points

  • Beautiful, very appealing, and focused aromas of floral, lychee, candied citrus, ginger, and touches of orange zest, with great intensity. On the medium-full bodied palate it is impressively concentrated with lovely, off-dry aroma replays on the lightly spicy flavour profile, and balanced with fresh, juicy acidity. Some jasmine notes appear on the mid-palate, joined by faint mineral notes, and lingers through to the long finish, with excellent length. Superb!

  • Medium gold.

Pronounced intensity on the palate with lychee, peach, orange, rose, honey and blossom. Developing.

Pronounced and sweet on the palate. Medium plus acidity, medium alcohol, full body, long finish.

Outstanding wine. Can drink now but suitable for further aging.

  • This is quite the (Grand Cru) Gewürztraminer, thick and lush and syrupy, more a Gewürztraminer for people who love Gewürztraminers than any sort of accessible entry point to the varietal, a mega-Gewürztraminer of sorts. The texture is just short of ice wine, and it really needs to be chilled. It wasn't nearly cold enough when I first tasted it and it was just way too syrupy, way too flabby, the sweetness cloying. It remains sweet, but well-chilled it comes into relative (off-dry Riesling-like) balance, nicely structured, still thick but more varietally clear, with characteristic notes of lychee and rose, fruit complexity with guava, pineapple, mango, orange, and lemon-lime, warming ginger and nutmeg, and honey. It works well with suitable food that complements the sweetness, spiciness, florality, and tropical fruitiness (e.g., southeast Asian dishes), but it's even better on its own, almost like a dessert wine (hence also with dessert), if with a drier finish, as it has such great body and depth, not to mention highly impressive length. 90-91.

  • The fresh, highly aromatic nose offers beautiful aromas of rose, lychee, floral, citrus, and wet stone minerals. The palate has lovely aroma replays joined by spicy notes with notable sweetness that is balanced by fresh and lively acidity. It’s nicely balanced throughout with excellent length and notes of rose, floral, and lychee lingering on the very long, satisfying finish. Score: 91+ pts
