Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • I thought that it would be helpful to taste some of the 2019's to figure out which ones I'll be wanting to age & for how long. This bottle is under a DIAM-20 closure. The wine is a pale ruby that reminds me a bit of the Kelley Fox wines I've had...however, this is a tad more astringent and feels a little unbalanced at this stage in it's life. Maybe that really means this needs to be left alone for 20+ years? On the nose this wine is absolutely breath-taking. The nose leads with a whisper of brown sugar, red fruits, and a melange of scents that reminds me of a blend of your local natural living center, patchouli, frankincense, myrrh...and of course the herb/smoke you expect all of those and any other incense may be trying to cover up. It's just lovely...I could smell this all night long, but the palate is not quite there yet. Patience is advised. Hold
