Comprised of 100% Tempranillo, this opaque ruby wine is the collaborative effort of 28 different families from the village of Quintanamanvirgo. Tasted over a three hour period from a bottle that was uncorked and poured, it offers an attractive package of dark bramble fruits, black currants, Asian spices, smoke and white pepper. Full-bodied, freshly acidic, unoaked and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it delivers its flavors with mouth-coating, rustic tannins. The tannins are pervasive on the mid-palate and are the source of the astringency that is noted on the medium-length finish. Although this wine is not necessarily meant for long-term aging, a year or so in the cellar would likely allow the tannins to settle down a bit and improve the tactile tasting experience. Under such circumstances, it may merit a higher score. If you choose to pop the cork now, give it a couple hours of aeration. Drink 2024-2029.

With 4 hours of decanting, this is excellent. Paired with ribeye.

Probably some good juice and value here, but waaayyyyyy tight and needs 5+ hours of decanting. Still very tannic after two.
