  Ganz eindeutig herausgestochen ist am Verkostungsabend vor wenigen Tagen der Pinot Noir *** 2005 vom Weingut Holger Koch. Dieser konnte mich mit seiner Frische, Klarheit, feinste Frucht, Vitalität, vielleicht sogar Beschwingtheit und Präzision beeindrucken. Länge und Seriosität ohne Überkonzentration (bezüglich allen möglichen Aspekten) und exzessiver Holzwürze. Für mich ganz klar ein sehr anständiger teutonischer Spätburgunder mit klarer und eigener Struktur sowie angenehmen Charakter. Leider gibt es nur wenige Produzenten im Badner Land die sich trauen solch eine Herangehensweise an Pinot Noir zu wagen. Zum Glück werden es immer mehr ...

  Don't know why I've kept this single bottle in the cellar so long. It's not over the top or anything but I don't think these years has given it anything special either. It's just mature as opposed to young, and I think I would have preferred it young, being this quality level PN. Still a nice bottle of wine. On the nose rubber and old leaves, late rose hip and grained almonds, figs. In the mouth this is a light PN but still solid and quite elegant fruit. A bit short, but acid and tannins are still somehow well balanced.

  Not bad...would like to compare to the R & C Schneider wines, as the pricing is very similar (this bottling was 19,90 Euro, I believe, compared to proven quality at the 21 to 24 Euro range at Schneider). I will buy another bottle probably and compare to the '05 Schneider - R - , which hopefully remains at the 21 Euro level.
