Medium-bodied, fresh, vibrant and silky, the wine offers an array of sweet, silky, plums and cherries with a touch of cocoa and bright red pit fruits to come in at the end. You can enjoy this with pleasure while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop. Even better than the 2018, this is a superb vintage of La Gravette de Certan. Drink from 2023-2035.

2021 Bordeaux Tasting Trip; 7/12/2021-7/16/2021 (Bordeaux): A tasting in Bordeaux of 71 wines, some of the best I have ever had and others, umm, well were disappointing. If you read the Tasting story (and my grading history) I think it will do a much better job putting this in perspective.
Let me get the VCC tasting lineup out of the way as there is no question this is one of, if not the top estate in Bordeaux, period. Link the above comment to my VCC tasting note and overall Story once I find the time to post it.
I have had a handful of different vintages of La Gravette, ‘15 & ‘16, and they are good wines and worth the price of entry but the 2020 is at an entirely different level (perhaps so is ‘18 & ‘19 but I did not taste) to the point it could stand on its own a fetch 50% or more than the previous price point and I wouldn’t bat an eye. The wine is deep, sensual and utterly delicious built around great structure with a beautiful finish. The 2020 to my knowledge has not been released yet but if it stays at the same price point as previous vintages this is a heavy purchase for me, it’s just that good.
