  • I am not sure if it was flawed or not, but the cap was bleached by the sun. However it has been stored horizontal as there are sediments horizontally in the bottle.

    Colour:
A bit orange in the edge, then ruby red.

    Nose:
Not much to pick up here. Some Forrest blueberry jam smell in the back. Oak is dominant.

    Taste:
Still some tannins in the wine, but well integrated. I have a bit trouble distinguishing any flavors, there are not that much berry or oak. It last longer than I would expect from a defect wine.

  • Same bottle as nutty08. Agree with tertiary elements and perhaps more development than expected. In sunlight, there is some bricking.

Initially tobacco and dark fruits seem to rule, but with air, you get a really pronounced black cherry note and some red fruits start to break in. Fine dusty cedar tannins seem about right. A very nice showing for a 2nd wine from 06. Love VCC

  • Sample from a friend. Served blind. Seemed mature. RA app and cedar elements. Fine tannin still present on the palate but rather soft on entry. Color betrayed the feeling this was mature and still showed rather dark and crimson. Really nice, supple and pleasant. Shows the elegance but also ripeness of Pomerol.

  • Monthly Tasting Group HWS #147; Pomerol (By AH): Slightly rustic bouquet with cherries, red berries and pleasant vanilla. On the palate supple and round red berries, good acidity and still slightly sticky tannin. Lactic impressions still. Also some leather and tobacco. Beautiful wine with still a future of a few years.

  • Opened the bottle at room temp 90 minutes before drinking. Sampled at 30 minutes, thought it might be a loss, at 60, maybe drinkable, at 90 minutes the huge tannins balanced out and all was good, very glad I let it sit that long.
