  This wine is exactly as it is described in the bottle in the original label. A VdP wine that is made from Cab Franc and most likely the leftovers. The color very pale pink with an earthy cab franc nose. Nothing to scoff at for its price tag. The wine offers some subtleties of smoked meats as well as the fruit forward red fruits of cherry and raspberry. Good acidity should hold some heartier food.

  A little green... Almost so acidic that I was suspecting corked, but I think it's just unripe and vegetal. Not much better the 2nd night.

  Pale ruby color, bright, transparent. Aromas of strawberry, cherry, lightly vegetal (bell pepper, tobacco). Fresh and juicy palate with high acidity and fresh strawberry, cherry, and green tobacco/leafy flavors. Low alcohol, no tears. The wine feels a little odd on the tongue, perhaps not entirely clean (light oxidation, slight petillance, something else?). Nonetheless it is enjoyable, and opens up nicely with 45 minutes in the decanter. Low tannin and a foam cork to boot, no doubt intended as a short term drinker. Update: am revising my opinion of this wine. A third of the bottle sat in my refrigerator for 5 days and tonight i used some in a tomato sauce and poured a glass to taste. It's quite alive, with a wonderfully fresh, complex nose of red fruits, licorice, violets, tobacco. Much better integrated acidity on the palate, with pure flavors of raspberry, underripe strawberry, cherries, and some leafiness. Great balance between sweet and tart flavors, and a nice earthy finish that lingers for 15-20 sec. I'm tempted to put one of these away for a couple of years but alas, there's that fake cork...

  A refreshingly rustic CF nose that (unfortunately) blows off, leaving a denser, earthy, accessible CF nose. Bright leafy cherries, some slightly carnal elements, sap in mouth, for a Loire red easy to chug. Refreshing acidity. This would be good with a lot of food, veggie pizza, even some white fish dishes, very nicely balanced.
