Wine is drinking very well right now with good maturity and few signs of oxidation. Quite a pretty with excellent structure and back bones. Touch of caramel coming through. Little to know popcorn. Overall a nice straight ahead california chard. Not bad for a wine that was rated to last until 2005 max...

I thought this would have been too far gone. But I was wrong. Very Burgundian in style. Great citrus and pear flavors finished with a milky oaky after taste. Very nice, on the far side of the curve however. If there are any left, drink up.

Surprisingly still alive. Heavy oak notes initially, but gavre way to nice minerality, with creamy pear and citrus notes.

The Wine Summit 2007: Patz & Hall Chardonnays - Friday, June 1, 2007 - 9:00 A.M. (The Post Hotel - Lake Louise, AB): For comparison, an older vintage of the same wine. Definitely more yellow – a golden hue; much heavier in the glass on swirling; soft floral nose – some mealy aromas, too; again good acidity; mineral character in the flavours; much longer finish, but the wine seems to lack cohesive harmony.
