Very Burgubdian in style. Very nice complex and concentrated. Nice oak and butter but not out of balance as has become the style. An almost flinty quality reminding me of a Chablis. If you have any in your cellar now is the time to move them out. I would drink before the end of the year.

14.2% alcohol. Purchased locally at Sigels’s for $28.80 a bottle. Opened and served immediately without decanting in Spigelau Authentis WeissWein glasses. Served with a chef’s salad during and after lunch. The color of this wine was a light yellow that was clear as a bell. The nose was fairly singular with mostly fresh cut pear and a little bit of apricot. Tannins were smooth coupled with soft acidity. Fruit was delicate and the alcohol right in balance. Overall the wine was fairly balanced although the sugars were just a little lacking. Flavors were straightforward buttered toast with some pears towqrds the mid-palate. Body was medium with a soft consistency through the short and slightly flat finish. There was not a high degree of complexity but the wine was agreeable none the less. I would recommend drinking this wine over the short term, probably no later than 2005. Rating is 89 points with its’ overall value in the range of acceptable to agreeable.

This bottle was evolving into the golden color and slightly fatigued flavor profile. That said it still had attractive flavors.
