First time trying a Vernaccia. Golden color. Nose and palate are nutty, a little savory, with some bruised apple and pear notes. Fun to drink but I do prefer a more refreshing style.

I tasted this wine before I bought it. When I opened the purchased bottle, it had all the things I originally loved: floral, nutty, fruity, citrusy, but didn’t have the acidity that I remembered. The lack of acidity makes it quite boring for me and probably wouldn’t buy this bottling again.

My wife and I visited San Gimignano in 1998 but did not go to this estate. This white is given 5-7 days of skin contact before pressing. 100% Vernaccia. A rustic and structured wine which benefits from some air time. Medium yellow color. This was spicy with a slight sweetness to it. Probably the heaviest and most serious Vernaccia that I have ever had. Tangy lemon notes and a savory character. Rather unique wine which I do not think is for everyone but I liked it. 92 points.

Tasted WBTG at Eataly Chicago. Straw colored, medium light bodied, hints of delicate pear and citrus with stone fruit, hints of almond nut and white pepper on a crisp mineral finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2022/11/lunch-at-eataly-during-gala-wedding.html

A quintessential Vernaccia. Very little to no fruit, loads of mineral and savory notes. It's one of those wines that keeps you coming back for more.
