Enticing bouquet, the best of well-aged, Old School, Napa Cabernet. Dark fruit, dried cherries, desiccated leaves, forest floor, and some eucalyptus. More dried fruit on the palate, a whiff of brett, showing lots of earth and bottle age complexity. Completely resolved if ever-so-slightly tired, but it's still a beautiful wine.

Retail $200? Fruitier perhaps than the 1984, with black pepper and clove, a hint of tobacco. Mocha. The palate is tart and lovely perhaps not as layered, but amazing. Another wine to drink up as I doubt this will improve.
beautiful wine, bright color, slight brickishness, but surprisingly bright garnet color cherry and berry notes on the nose, and velvety mouth feel, Tannis soft and well balanced. The right acidity for the meal we had (Salmon and Duck respectively).
I wish I had a lot more, but this was my only bottle.

Still mostly primary aromas, with plum and black currant and some herb and new oak notes as well. Less interesting flavors, came across as short and one dimensional.

Klingenstein Dinner w/Stephan Blicker (Custom House): Full deep crimson red color. Lovely nose of rich candied black fruit with a dill note and a hint of dark brown sugar - captivating aroma. Big sweet rich redcurrant fruit with some raciness. Not quite as focused, but nice.
