VinVinoWine Garnacha Flight: A great wine just to have around for crushing. Pleasing, simple red fruits up front in balance with some green, minty notes and medium body and structure. Can drink any day of the week, but not very intriguing.

Too young perhaps. Surprisingly tart, some apple, chocolate and wet wood on the nose not reflected in the taste. Should have let it air out some more, maybe will be better day two.

Day 1 - Tastes like young Beaune Pinot meets acidic unoaked Dry Creek Zin (although this is Grenache from high altitude). Clear bright garnet color. Pure expression of sour cherry, cranberry, red plum, lavender and menthol/spearmint. High viscosity, extremely concentrated despite being clean and seamless (some people might call it light but it is not other than the level of extraction). Medium++ acidity, medium+ tannin with some “inky” fine/smooth texture that increases thickness at the end. Long finish. 14.5% abv is very well integrated. Went well with Chinese styled stir-fried napa cabbage with garlic/red chili peppers. 91. Underpriced for $23.
Day 2 - calmed down, less range of aroma, mostly cooked cherry and raspberry, with hint of vanilla, rose petal, and some earthiness like wet claypot. Tannin/acidity are wrapped in viscosity. Rich but closed. Reminds of old school Tuscan Sangiovese from ripe hot vintage. 90.
Day 3 - finally tastes like Grenache, in its extreme silky form. Excellent horizontal breadth with tender alcohol warmth. 90-91.

Plums, licorice, raspberry. Nice wine after it opened up a bit from decanting.
