The wine looks violet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry. It tastes like raspberry, black currant (cassis), mushroom, clove and barnyard. The body is light. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

14.1% alcohol; composite cork, max of 1 mm wine seepage, aroma of stone fruit, citrus and cork; medium to heavy weight foil; brownish-red; nose of stone fruit, spices including nutmeg & vanilla, forest floor; opened, vinturied and tasted about 20 minutes later at 16 degrees C, full bodied, woody, forest-y; toward the back of the tongue the wine becomes more metallic, stony; components tolerably well integrated; sweetness is not overpowering, neither is fruitiness, tannins are well managed; the short finish, lower alcohol content, and good balance allow for a range of pairings, but primarily with meat, however cooked; try leg of Australian lamb, done over a charcoal grill, with mashed potatoes and asparagus

Served by the glass at the United Polaris Club in Houston. Very deep magenta color. Strawberry jam and toast oak dominate the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with zesty acidity. Firm, full, medium intensity tannins on the medium long+ finish.
This has surprisingly good structure. Even so, there is sort of a cheap/manufactured “tang” to it that is hard to articulate. Might be ever so slight better if chilled a bit.

What a disappointment. So light in body it appeared to be a Pinot Noir when pouring. Simple and uninteresting.
