  • Last bottle of my half case purchased way back in 2009 and first one since 2016. This was a tannic bruiser in its youth, which accounts for the fact that this has held up so well over the years. Fully mature now and just so very elegant and refined. Still shows quite a lot of ripe, delicious plum, boysenberry and dark currant fruit, backed by a moderate acidity. There's excellent depth on the mid-palate and a long, silky smooth finish that features interesting notes of earth, molasses, cedar and spice. Very complex and simply a joy to drink. Glad that we didn't wait too long to drink this beauty.

  • Got this bottle as a part of a “mystery old wines” case, so honestly wasn’t expecting much but pleasantly surprised. Red fruit on the nose. Light bodied and a little flat once opened, but after an hour of decanting, the flavors are coming through. Concentrated red fruit, a bit of vanilla, and a little bit of cedar. A bit of earthiness comes out with a bit more air. Tannins fully resolved and barely perceivable. Not as heavy as the earlier notes. Elegant and easy drinking.

  • More solid and full than the previous bottles. Apparently my last bottle and its a shame as I'd be interested in trying this at 20 years of age.

  • Drank with (and mostly by) Ray & Diane.
Very earthy, dusty, leathery, dried fruit. Long smooth finish. As others have said, not a ton of umpf, but plenty here for interest.

  • Well dagnabbit.... another good bottle but not great. My thoughts tonight echo a note from a few months ago ".... getting tired?"
