I don't much care for very fruity California wines (other than some ruby Ports and late harvest wines on occasion), but this bottle did impress me as an outstanding example of a well made wine of a type I don't like. It had been sitting on my kitchen counter for quite a few years since I bought it for my GF. She has since decided she doesn't like most Cabs (other than high end Margaux (go figure)) so I finally opened it. Uncorking immediately filled the room with Cab aroma. Reminded me of an early wine drinking experience opening a 1/2 bottle of 1959 Lafite sometime around 1967. Virtually no trace of tannins, big nose, nice mouth feel. 15 years old, yet youthful. From my description it sounds like a fruit bomb, but it didn't come off that way. And no, I hadn't had anything else alcoholic that day.

Surprisingly delicious. Opened and let breath 2 hours, no decanting. Had with pork tenderloin. This wine was very drinkable and still had great fruit. Did filter and funnel when pouring, as there is a bit of sed. Still has a dark purple color, minimal bricking. Tannins have mellowed out, smooth, easy to drink. Nose had a hint of vanilla and palate was delicious dark fruit. Would have actually scored higher except not much age left here

This particular bottle was MUCH better than the last. Still quite fruit forward and not as demure as the last one. Very pleased! Dark purple, sediment, with texture feel in the mouth. Very nice finish.
