Killer cab franc, as always from the expert hands at Keenan Winery. 2018 brought about a great balance of structure, finesse, and power to create a great Cabernet Franc that taste inexplicably like Spring Mountain should.
I personally love the 25th anniversary 2016 vintage more, but that’s just what God have them that year. The ‘18 is a stellar wine nonetheless.
My only complaint? It’s too early on this one to open, surprisingly. Needs another year or two to come together.

IMO, Keenan’s best single grape wine. Light purple/dark ruby on pour. Decanted for 90 minutes. Mild tannins, some acidity. Still young. Was best on front palate. A little sweetness mixed with some black pepper. Was super from the get go, but stayed at that level over next couple of hours.

Deep purple Nose of berries, plum, and oak Graphite, unripened cherry, strawberry, vanilla on the palate Medium acidity, light tannins The taste was a little off.
We were hosting company, so I wasn't able to focus on it. I may need to give this another try and decant it a bit longer

Color: dark ruby with some purple Nose: vanilla, dill, black pepper, freshly cut plants, stem, plums, dark cherries, very ripe. Good power Palate: medium tannins that are young, medium to medium-high acidity, full body, hint of sweet. Intense, and a little hot. Balanced though. Fruit is stewed, there is some pencil shaving in addition to what I get on the nose Finish: medium
Big wine, lots of oak, yet very compelling as a standalone piece. Structure is enough for food but not what I prefer, too ripe and not enough tannic and acid backbone
