  • Bought a few bottles as I had learned that the Spanish Mencia from Bierzo has some similarities to burgundy in that the tannins are soft, the nose is very expressive and driven by red fruits. This wine did not disappoint although, of course, it is no burgundy.
Blackberry, black cherry, and loads of Smokey Chocolate.
Great use of oak. Palate is dry, cherry and raspberry, med acidity and med- tannins. Medium body and very smooth. Flavor intensity med+. Med finish. This did a good wine.
