  • Green apple, apricot, and granite on the nose. Mouthfeel is quite rich, maybe even buttery, but with noticeable tart acidity and a bit of spiciness. Tasty in a rich and creamy sort of way--an interesting alternative to oaked Chardonnays.

  • Out of four tasters, I definitely liked this the least. Compared to the 2020 SL SB, the Viognier didn't do a lot for me. Yellow fruits were there but a little nondescript. This is a medium bodied wine and does have good balance but I just think the fruit was lacking. Now, this HAD been opened for 2-3 hours and I DID get the last 50ml or so. But I'm not sure that really means anything. I would love to revisit this wine in 6 months and for Viognier in Napa I know it's incredibly young as well which is probably a big factor. I have a few SL wines in my collection and really have appreciated almost all of them. I will be on the hunt for another one of these to be opened and will pounce on it if I see it!
