A thinner Zin! Not sure how many Zins allow you to see through the glass but this one does. Pretty light cherry red in color. A bit reticent on the nose but nice on the palate. A bit primary with lighter red fruit. Not my mental picture of a Zinfandel but enjoyable. None of Papapietro Perry wines are overly extracted, and this is no exception. Feminine almost, but still a darn fine glass of wine.

Consumed over two days. Rather closed up and tightly wound on day 1. Much improved on day 2. Dark red fruit, ripe peaches, red figs, quince paste, somewhat jammy. Hints of cracked pepper, thyme, new leather. This is good stuff, but you got to let it breath.

Medium to light bodied for a Zin. Somewhat typical for Papapietro wines overall. Primary red fruit flavors with a kind of dusty presence. Late in the evening, so I don’t want to be overly discerning. It did drink much better day two and had seemingly gained a bit more weight.

Not good. Weak, bland, mineral heavy notes, maybe a hint of green pepper. PP's zins are never typical, always a bits softer than most CA zinfandel, but this tastes nothing like zin. Initial skunky aromas, but these blew off after a few minutes in the glass.
