Medium garnet. The nose is medium intensity red fruit, but the interest lies in herbs, dark chocolate and slate.
The palate bursts with ripe cherries and strawberries. Chocolate and a surprising woodiness follow on the mid palate and the finish is long. Alcohol still a bit hot and not fully integrated with acid yet, but this is a powerful and elegant Barbera.

Return to Piemonte!; 11/25/2021-12/4/2021 (Castello di Sinio, Alba, other various locations): 100% stainless steel here. Very fruity. I am starting to think the Barbera fruit skews towards the stewed even in its most natural form and that was true here. It’s lower tannin and again lower acid and maybe almost a bit of straw or hay to it. Different style than some of the others of this we have had. Again a bit less aggressive than some although not a grape that I would seek out.
