Upon opening, quick release of eucalyptus, plum and bubblegum. Palate is light bodied and thin, red fruit and smoke.
After 2 hour decant, the bubblegum has cleared out, bringing eucalyptus, bergamot & pomegranate. Palate shows plum, blueberry & pomegranate, tomatoe leaf and smoke. Bright fruit brings a facade of acidity. It's hard to separate the smoke from the tannins. (A good gouda helps kill some smoke taint, I've found). An otherwise elegant pinot, I'd be interested in a different vintage to be fair, but at this price point I'd be hesitant.

Not overly expressive initially on the nose. Tight with a whiff of struck match on first pour but opened up nicely with more air. Core of black and red cherry, together with spiced black tea and earthy notes. A touch of prune. Medium bodied with a spine of high acidity and fine tannins. Decent but not exceptional sour cherry finish. May improve with more bottle age but not very impressive today.
WSET Notes:
Pale garnet.
Pronounced on the nose with struck match, red cherry, black cherry, prune, clove, black tea, earth, smoke and forest floor. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. High acidity, low tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus finish.
Can drink now but has potential for ageing.
