  • Some richness on the nose. Rather weighty on the palate but balanced by a lovely freshness. Rich peach fruit with touches of spice and saline notes. Drink now or hold.

    WSET Notes:

    Pale gold.

Pronounced on the nose with apple, pear, apricot, biscuit, cream and walnut. Developing.

Pronounced and dry with some nutmeg, peach and saline notes coming through. Medium (+) body, medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, long finish.

Can drink now but has potential for ageing.

  • Obvious, ripe, borderline flamboyant chardonnay here. Floral, lemony, grapey bouquet. If you bought a kit of synthetic wine smells, this would be the chardonnay vial. Lots of Bartlett pear on the attack, showing a little fat, followed with ample, clumsy acids and a whisper of minerality. A little rough on the finish. Tasty but lacks gravitas, comes across like a New World white (though unadorned by oak).

  • Colour: med gold, right, clear.
Nose: full, v ripe, rounded, creamy, good fruit
Taste: med body, rounded, good ripe fruit and acidity balance, med finish, ripe.
Overall, a revelation. It has the fatness of the Maconnais with the character of good Burgundy.
Tasted while feeling fluey so perhaps not as focused as usual.
