PNP, clean cork. Surprisingly little sediment. Right off the bat beautiful aromatics of leather, sweet tobacco, forest floor, crushed gravel and plum. Could only be Bordeaux. Palate matched the nose, but more lean than I was expecting. Fleshed out with an hour of air, elegant. 12.5 ABV. Slightly chewy tannins, bit of tart cherry on the finish. Beautiful, balanced, this is at peak for me, but there is no rush.

Similar experience to last go around. It’s a great wine with plenty of red fruit at the forefront. There is a bit of an earthy/bretty note but it’s not obtrusive. With the bold structure here, I’d say this will develop more nuance in the next 5 years or so. Great now!

PnP. Ruby edge dark blood red core. Nose of dried cherry, red fruit, leather and cigar. Well structured on the palate. Moderate acidity, medium/high tannin, and just enough fruit to shine through. Not bad at all. Will likely improve with air and probably has another 5-10 years left if the fruit holds on while the tannin continues to mellow.

Good colour; plenty red & black fruit, coffee & spice; fleshy, spicy snap; good grip on a smart finish. Drink soon - signs of fading after an hour.
